Apply NowAbout Forward Future
Forward Future is one of the fastest-growing AI media companies. Across our properties, The Future Today (daily newsletter), The Future Live (weekly show), and Forward Future (YouTube channel), we reach over 10M people every month.
In a world flooded with hype, we break down what's real, what's fluff, and what actually matters, so our audience can stay ahead of the curve and put AI to work. Our job is to make the future legible.
The Role
Think less "beat reporter" and more "analyst who can write." You read the paper, talk to the researcher, find the implication nobody flagged, and explain it to 10M monthly viewers who don't have time to do what you just did.
What You'll Own
- Research & Analysis — Track the full AI stack: models, infrastructure, semiconductors, robotics, emerging verticals. You're not recapping announcements. You're building mental models of how the pieces fit together and where they're going. You develop original theses. You're right before the consensus.
- Writing & Publishing — Deep dives, quick takes, data-driven analysis, explainers. You write for a smart general audience without talking down to them. You translate CoWoS capacity constraints and transformer architecture tradeoffs in the same week — credibly, readably. You have a consistent point of view. Your byline means something.
- Sourcing & Intelligence — You have relationships — founders, researchers, operators — and you work them. You're in the academic preprints, the niche forums, the industry Slacks. You attend the right conferences. You surface signal before it's signal.
- Collaboration — You feed the content pipeline with ideas, angles, and data points. You work closely with editorial on newsletter and video framing. You contribute to guest identification and briefing for The Future Live.
What We're Looking For
- You are technically credible. You can read a research paper, an earnings call transcript, and a semiconductor teardown and extract what matters from each. You don't need a PhD. You need rigor and range.
- You are opinionated. Coverage without perspective is a commodity. You have a worldview on where AI is going and you're willing to put it in print and defend it.
- You are fast. The news cycle doesn't wait. You can produce a sharp 600-word take in two hours and a deeply reported 2,000-word piece in two days.
- You are AI-native. You use models as research tools, not crutches. You know how to prompt well, synthesize across sources, and verify outputs. You're building your own workflows, not waiting for someone to hand you a process.
- You've published work that made people smarter. We don't care where — newsletter, Substack, trade press, research blog. We care that readers trusted your analysis and came back for more.
What This Isn't
A press release aggregator. A Twitter thread ghostwriter. A content factory role with 10 pieces a week and no depth. We'd rather have three pieces that shape the conversation than ten that fill a feed.
